Shuai Chang looked at An Qiluo, his eyes filled with questions.
An Qiluo angrily said, “Darling, ignore him. Let’s go.”
After that, An Qiluo pulled Shuai Chang down the mountain. The appearance of Bao’er had ruined An Qiluo’s mood, and he didn’t want to stay there any longer.
Seeing Shuai Chang disregard him and walk away with An Qiluo, Bao’er became so angry that his face turned red. “Hey! You two, stop!”
He attempted to catch up, but having just twisted his ankle, he could only limp along, unable to reach An Qiluo and the others.
Shuai Chang asked, “Does your uncle live nearby?”
An Qiluo shook his head and replied, “I don’t know. My parents severed ties with my uncle’s family before they passed away. I only know Bao’er because we both studied in the potion-making program at the Beastmen Academy, though he is a year younger than I am.”
“Yadunis, you must not let Bao’er seduce you,” An Qiluo said earnestly.
Shuai Chang laughed, saying, “Baby, what misunderstanding do you have of me? My whole heart belongs to you. Even if Bao’er were to stand in front of me naked, I wouldn’t even bother looking.”
“You still want him to stand naked? You wish! You can only look at me!” An Qiluo retorted angrily.
Shuai Chang felt warmth flooding his chest as he hugged An Qiluo and softly whispered in his ear, “Baby, it seems your star grass pill has worn off.” He was feeling uncomfortable and wished he could marry An Qiluo and enter the bridal chamber immediately.
An Qiluo stood stiffly in place, not daring to move. “You,” he thought, feeling shy under Yadunis’s treatment.
How could the star grass pill wear off? Did he add too much of the honey essence?
An Qiluo trembled sensuously, a pink hue spreading from his cheeks to his neck. “Yadunis, calm down.”
The azure color of his eyes took on a watery sheen, and his lower lip was red from being bitten.
Shuai Chang leaned in to seal his lips with kisses, saying, “Did I ever say you could bite here? An Qiluo, you’re being disobedient, so Hubby has to punish you.”
Using force, Shuai Chang picked up An Qiluo, cradling him in his arms as he walked deeper into the forest.
Sunlight pierced through the dense leaves, casting bright beams of light everywhere.
An Qiluo felt a faint blush creep across his body, as Shuai Chang encouraged him to do something he had never imagined doing in his nineteen years.
With a low growl from Shuai Chang, An Qiluo’s legs weakened, and he fell to the ground.
“You rascal,” An Qiluo whimpered with tears in his eyes, feeling wronged.
Shuai Chang held An Qiluo against the thick layer of fallen leaves. “Baby, it’s all my fault.” His lips curled into a mischievous smile as he entered a moment of carefree time.
Having been bullied so severely by Shuai Chang, An Qiluo was dazed on the way back.
To earn An Qiluo’s forgiveness, Shuai Chang prepared five dishes and a soup as an apology.
An Qiluo bit his lip and said, “Yadunis, you, you cannot do that again.”
Shuai Chang, unrepentant, replied teasingly, “Do what, baby?”
An Qiluo pushed away his face that was too close. “You can’t get too close to me before you agree to it; half a meter distance is the safest.”
Seeing that An Qiluo was serious, Shuai Chang immediately raised his hand in surrender, “I’m sorry, An Qiluo. I’ll never let you be my bait in the forest again.”
“Don’t bring that up! I don’t want to eat,” An Qiluo said, embarrassed as he threw down his chopsticks. Shuai Chang quickly stopped him, “Baby, I was wrong. Come on, let’s finish our meal first before discussing anything. Don’t let yourself starve; that would break my heart.”
An Qiluo huffed quietly and sat back down. Shuai Chang served some dishes into An Qiluo’s bowl, saying, “These are all your favorites. Try them and see how they taste.”
An Qiluo tentatively took a bite. “Wow!” How could it be so delicious? He was moved to tears!
Before the school started, Shuai Chang heard from Yalin that the military planned to conduct early selection for soldiers and officers in response to the impending wave of corrupted beasts at the end of autumn and beginning of winter.
The selection was open to all grades in the Beastmen Academy, regardless of age. Any male beastmen who registered and had a composite star level above seven stars could directly become an officer, leading a squad of ten in battle.
Hearing this, An Qiluo frowned, “Yadunis, do you want to sign up?”
Shuai Chang wrapped his arms around An Qiluo’s waist from behind and kissed him lightly on the ear. “Of course! This is a great opportunity. Just wait until I make you the Marshal’s wife.”
“But…” An Qiluo said worriedly, “I’m afraid you might get into danger.”
“Baby, you have to believe me. Isn’t hunting down two thousand corrupted beast teeth in just over half a month enough to prove my strength? Have you forgotten what happened during the examination? As long as I release my aura, even a level nine corrupted beastman wouldn’t dare approach me. I had to use Yalin as bait to find any corrupted beastmen in the dark realm forest.”
“Yalin is the bait?” An Qiluo was hearing this for the first time.
“Yes! He just had to hide while I worked hard,” Shuai Chang said, playfully pinching the flesh on An Qiluo’s belly.
“Stop! Yadunis, that’s so ticklish!” An Qiluo was sensitive to touch, and Shuai Chang’s gentle teasing made him squirm, laughing so hard that tears streamed down his face. In the midst of his amusement, he bumped into a pillar. “Oh…” An Qiluo’s laughter abruptly stopped, and cold sweat broke out. “Yadunis, calm down!” He did not want to relive what had happened in the forest.
Shuai Chang lingered for a moment before releasing An Qiluo, saying, “Baby, don’t worry. If you don’t agree, I won’t touch you. I’ll just go upstairs to take a shower…”
An Qiluo felt flustered under his hungry gaze, urging, “Hurry up and go.”
Shuai Chang sighed in disappointment, “Am I really going?”
“Yes, yes, yes! Quickly go!” An Qiluo didn’t hold him back at all.
After venting in the upstairs bathroom, Shuai Chang came downstairs to find An Qiluo.
His black hair dripped with water, and he casually shook it out as he walked over to An Qiluo. “Baby, what are you doing?”
An Qiluo was focused on a book of an unknown genre, looking very serious.
He placed the book on his lap and looked up, “I’m checking the military promotion criteria. If you want me to be the Marshal’s wife, at least you need to kill two hundred thousand corrupted beastmen in the beast tide.”
